Training - Who needs it?
Scout leaders do!! It's never too late to get trained. It makes your job easier, you get to share ideas and problems with other leaders trying to do the same things you are doing and experiencing the same problems that you do. No matter what program you are registered in, training will make your job easier and your experience better. Call the Muncie Scout office for information on when you can be trained. YOUTH PROTECTION TRAINING MUST BE UPDATED EVERY TWO YEARS! As a matter of fact, new leaders are required to take Youth protection training when they register - our Council does not want untrained leaders registered. Do it online or in a class - it only takes around an hour and is well worth the time spent. Training for all can be had by attending the Univeristy of Scouting at Warren Central High School, Saturday January 19, 2014.

Journey To Excellence - Is yours in the office?
While many of you have already done this, every unit should turn in a JTE scorecard. Many of you have questions about the JTE (Journey To Excellence) form. The Scout Office can help you get the numbers you will need to complete this form and determine how you rank for the Journey To Excellence. Please call us anytime during normal office hours with questions, or email kagoth@crossroadsbsa.org and the information will be sent to you. NOTE - THIS YEAR WE ARE ASKING THAT YOU PRE-ORDER THE JOURNEY TO EXCELLENCE QUALITY UNIT PATCHES. Since this is relatively new to our council, and the patches are dated, we will be happy to get them for you, but need to know what kind and how many to get. Get the pre-order form here.
Reminder - The Muncie Scout office will be closed on Monday May 27th in honor of the Memorial Day holiday. Regular hours will resume on Tuesday, May 28. |

Golden Eagle District With nearly 90 units in our district, membership in Golden Eagle is the fourth largest in the Crossroads of America Council in Indiana. We are fortunate to have both a Scout Office and a Scout camp, Camp Redwing, in our district. Committed adult leaders continue to make the Boy Scout program a strong one in this part of the state, promoting leadership, character building, physical and mental strength, and by encouraging continued parental involvement.
